PROMISE first mentoring session

The PROMISE project has organised the first mentoring session that took place in the last few days in Malta. It was delivered by Philippe Macé from the Becquerel Institute to The Foundation for Innovation and Research – Malta and PIXAM members of staff.

Philippe Macé is Head of Strategy and Analytics at the Becquerel Institute. He has been working there in the field of solar PV for the past seven years. While in Malta, Philippe Macé delivered a public lecture about the status of solar PV competitiveness in Europe and the impact of performance and reliability. The event was hosted by The Chamber of Engineers and in collaboration with The Malta Group of Professional Engineering Institutions (MGPEI).

PROMISE is a three year research and innovation project funded by the European Commission through a Twinning action (HORIZON-WIDERA-2021-ACCESS-03), as part of the Widening Participation and Spreading Excellence objective under Horizon Europe.

The project is organised around a research framework featuring a Malta-based platform to study of existing and emerging PV modules and systems, including digitalisation aspects for prediction and optimisation algorithms.

The Foundation For Innovation and Research – Malta (FIR) was set up in 2021. In 2022 FIR, started coordinating two Horizon Europe projects, including Promise.
