Stylish glasses with built-in hearing aid technology

EssilorLuxottica, the eyewear industry leader, introduced Nuance Audio glasses, a groundbreaking solution for mild to moderate hearing loss. Weighing just over 40g, these stylish glasses, featuring Woody Allen-inspired frames, integrate advanced hearing technology seamlessly. This innovation follows EssilorLuxottica’s acquisition of Nuance Hearing, highlighting a strategic move into the hearing assistance market.

Controlled via glasses, app, or a remote, Nuance Audio allows users to adapt the volume to various settings, enhancing comfort in diverse environments, including crowded spaces. With a rapid 2.5-hour charging time and wireless charging pad compatibility, these glasses prioritize convenience.

The true innovation lies in the discreet incorporation of hearing technology into the frames, eliminating the discomfort associated with traditional hearing aids and erasing societal stigma. At CES 2024 earlier this month, Stefano Genco, Global Head of Super Audio and Nuance Audio at EssilorLuxottica, shared emotional testimonials of individuals feeling reconnected to the world, emphasizing the glasses’ transformative impact.

While Nuance Audio’s U.S. release is anticipated later this year, European availability is expected by 2025. EssilorLuxottica envisions expanding these glasses’ capabilities, incorporating features like blood pressure, body temperature, and posture sensors, transforming them into multifunctional smart devices reminiscent of a smartwatch.
