Steve Zerafa, founder and managing director of Pixam, was highlighted in today’s The Sunday Times of Malta for his pioneering work in agricultural robotics. Zerafa’s team is advancing GNSS-enabled robots to aid Maltese farmers on challenging terrains. Their flagship robot, WUKi, powered by artificial intelligence, handles labour-intensive tasks like transporting crops, cutting grass, picking weeds, and performing surveillance.
The project originated from farmers’ requests for technology to ease physical strain and improve efficiency. Zerafa emphasised that Pixam’s robots offer “centimetre-level precision in real-time,” perfectly suited for rugged farming environments, and marking a significant step forward in agricultural innovation.
