However, Meta’s new AI search engine will deliver direct, conversational responses about current events through Meta AI, a chatbot available on WhatsApp, Instagram, and Facebook. This project is part of Meta’s broader effort to enhance user experience by offering immediate and relevant answers to user queries.
Meta’s entry into the AI search market positions it against heavyweights like Google, OpenAI, and Microsoft, all of whom are racing to dominate the AI-powered search space. Google recently integrated its advanced AI model, Gemini, into Search to provide users with a more intuitive search experience. OpenAI, supported by Microsoft, uses Bing for web-based answers.
The development of AI models through data scraping has raised concerns regarding copyright and fair compensation for content creators. Meta has announced it will use content from news agencies like Reuters to respond to user queries about current events in real-time.
